Lasik surgery

Why choose Lasik Surgery?

Lasik eye surgery is a minimally invasive surgery. It is a quick and painless process that will improve your vision greatly so that you don’t have to rely on a piece of glasses or contact lenses. Refractive surgery incorporates different types of surgeries to correct vision which includes Lasik Refractive surgeries including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

What is ICL surgery?

An implantable Collamer lens (ICL) is done to treat myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism with the help of an artificial lens that is implanted inside the eye. Permanent implantation requires surgery where the artificial lens is placed between the eye’s natural lens and iris to achieve a clear vision.

Similar to LASIK surgery, it can help you get free from or contact lenses. This is an alternative for people who can’t be treated with Lasik eye surgery.

What is the procedure of Lasik and ICL surgery?

Lasik is less invasive, and the surgeon only operates on the surface of the eye (called an extraocular procedure). However, the procedure involves permanent ablation of some corneal tissue, making the procedure irreversible. LASIK on both eyes can be done simultaneously, while at times surgeons prefer to perform ICL surgery on different days.

In the case of ICL surgery, the eye specialist in Neytra eye clinic will numb the eyes using eye drops and insert ICL through the small opening and position the ICL behind the iris. The procedure is completely safe, painless, and has a faster recovery rate.

  • Lasik treatment takes very little time for each eye; the entire procedure takes about 10-15 minutes per eye.
  • Lens implants require about 15-20 minutes per eye. Usually, the surgeries for the two eyes are performed about a week apart.

Your doctor might prescribe some eye drops or oral medication if you suffer from any kind of pain. Also, keep in touch with your doctor for regular follow-up sessions.
